In 2017, Van Buren broke through when he won the title "World's Fastest Gamer," after which he started as a simulator driver at McLaren. Currently, Rudy van Buren holds the official position of simulator, test, and development driver for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at the Red Bull Formula 1 team. Besides, he regularly appears as a commentator for Viaplay and participated in the Porsche Supercup, the pre-show for Formula 1, last season.
