Eurol in Dakar 2022: Al-Attiyah takes another win on longest stage

The longest stage of the 2022 Dakar Rally was also a rapid one. Despite a decent amount of dunes, the terrain was made for close racing and exactly that happened during stage 4. It took Al-Attiyah until the last kilometers of the stage before he got in front of his main rivals. The margin of 25 seconds was enough for a career 44th stage win. Giniel de Villiers also did well and had his best day of the rally to date. A solid P6 brought him a further two places up in the general classification. Shameer Variawa had another solid day within the top 25. Henk Lategan was in front for a long time, but got technical problems and lost a lot of time.
