Lubrication drilling equipment steel industry
Situation Description
During the process of heating steel in the ladle, impurities rise to the surface. These impurities form a hard crust, also known as "slag." The slag must be removed before the casting process begins. To accomplish this, a drill head mounted on a modified excavator is used. However, the molybdenum disulfide-based grease cannot withstand the extreme temperatures. The lubricant completely carbonizes, resulting in frequent unplanned downtime and a shortened lifespan for the machine.

Solution
By replacing the molybdenum disulfide-based grease with Eurol Assembly Paste HT/FD, carbonization is avoided at extreme temperatures, and instead, a process of evaporation occurs. This results in a white lubricant powder capable of effectively lubricating the drilling equipment. As a result, an annual saving of at least €50,000 is achieved.
